SOOTHING ISOLATION WORRIES

FOURTEEN DAYS OF PEACE

It’s Good Friday

Almost everything is closed.

Now over Easter, the economy is already on a 4 day break - banks, stock exchange, factories and offices are all closed.

The ONLY difference is that the sectors which are normally open, Hospitality, Entertainment, Sport, Tourism and most retail stores, are, at this point in time, totally closed.

However, people still with jobs aren’t worried or stressed are they?

Why, because they know that it’s not the end of the world for them,

IT’S ONLY A HOLIDAY FOR THEM

and they can go back to normal on Tuesday.

If that is the case after a 4 day economic HOLIDAY for some,

why couldn’t it be,

that EVERYONE has an economic HOLIDAY and then

EVERYONE goes back to normal.

If, over Easter, we were ALL inside with enough food, drink medicine and someone to talk to or care for us if we are sick and we stayed there until Tuesday, then Covid-19 would be

DEAD on nearly every outside surface,

( it only lasts on surfaces for a few days).

Then, on Tuesday we would have 2 options.

For the sake of your sick and vulnerable friends and family,

we could ALL stay in doors for 10 more days with enough food, drink medicine and someone to talk to or care for us if we are sick.

By day 14 we would ALL know who is and who isn’t infected.

Those households that aren’t, might stay inside for a couple of more days just in case, but generally speaking could go back to normal.

If someone has the virus, then everyone in that household will stay inside for 2 more weeks.

In that 2 weeks, retail staff, teachers, service providers, delivery drivers, students, elderly, office staff in fact NO-ONE is being asked to put themselves , their family or friends at risk by going to work.

IF WE ALL TOOK A HOLIDAY AT THE SAME TIME.

( except our frontline heroes the nurses, doctors and police and truly essential services who never rest).

The only ones who would suffer are the few making money running their businesses at the risk of infection to their family, their staff and their staff’s family and friends and even some of them are forced to by the Government.

The other beneficiaries are “The Vultures” - big banks lending billions to keep companies afloat and in debt OR hedge funds and rich investors, picking the bones of businesses whose stocks have crashed OR companies gouging their “valued customers”

THE REST OF US, however, would be at peace at home.

NO worrying about spreading it to our family and friends, NO arguing with our neighbours who might be going out, NO shop assistants being spat at and yelled at.

NO stress about the future as we would ALL be back

"AFTER THE HOLDAYS".

We would read books, tidy the house, learn something, watch TV, camp at home, spend time with the family, even nanna could stay for 2 weeks and we could look after her.

The isolated would be cared for by volunteers.

Tourists, the homeless, families at risk of violent partners could spend the time in a motel at the cost of food and power and cleaning which would keep the motels afloat.

Then after 14 days the economy would reopen just as it will after Easter Monday but EVERYONE could go back to work.

OR THE FRIGHTENING ALTERNATIVE

Everyone goes out over Easter and continues the spread.

The ones who can return to work do so because either they don't care or are forced to.

Nearly all workers will still have the fear of giving it to a friend or loved one and causing their death, the fear of recession, the fear of losing their, jobs, homes businesses, lifestyle or savings.

Remember

If we have floods, bushfires, the flu or whatever other abnormal situation it will quadruple the panic as everyone helping in those situations, risk spreading the virus.

There is NO LONG TERM OPTION.

Animals have already got it, there is a possible mutation.

YOUR CHOICE

1. HOLIDAY AT HOME FOR TWO WEEKS

2. CONTINUE THIS POTENTIAL SPREAD FOR MONTHS

Imagine knowing that an economic holiday for the lifespan of any virus would give you a chance to reboot and refresh your lives knowing the economy would go back to normal

“after the holidays”..

PREPARING FOR THE HOLIDAY

It can’t start now because we need time to prepare.

ANZAC day is another day when EVERYTHING STOPS.

So let’s keep that day sacred and commence the

CORONA STAY AT HOME HOLIDAY ON APRIL 26th.

It gives us time to prepare and we would ALL be helping each other get ready for a 2 week holiday NOT self isolation for months.

Ask yourself thes questions

1. “Does it make sense”

2. “Do I benefit by calling for a 2week holiday?”

3. “If it stays like this Who really benefits”?
